Flavio Bolsonaro to Face Lula in Brazil's Presidential First Round

Source Summary

Brazil's first round of presidential election on Sunday will pit incumbent Lula against Flavio Bolsonaro, the eldest son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, rather than the former president himself. Flavio Bolsonaro is described as less charismatic than his father but equally ideologically radical.

Why it matters

The election represents a significant political contest in Brazil between the incumbent and a member of the Bolsonaro family, a major political force in the country.
