US Conducts Fresh Limited Strikes on Iran's Air Defence, Trump Says
Source Summary
President Trump announced Friday that US military forces carried out a new round of limited strikes on Iran, targeting an air defence system and describing the action as "minor." Iranian state media reported two explosions in the Suza area of Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement follows an earlier attack made public days prior and comes as diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict have intensified.
Why it matters
The strikes represent an escalation in direct US military action against Iran and occur amid ongoing diplomatic negotiations, signalling the parallel pursuit of military and diplomatic strategies in the conflict.
